BONFANTI VINI is a small family-run winery in Valpolicella. The ‘mind’ and creator of this business is Sergio Bonfanti, an business owner with a great passion for wine. At the beginning of the 2000s he bought a bit of land, about 5 hectares, located at 350 meters above sea-level, in ‘Località Quinzano’ in Valpolicella Doc area. On these hills olive trees and vineyards live in good harmony and provide Quinzano with a spectacular location. The Bonfanti vineyard has lain on these hills for almost 20 years, in the middle of the Valpolicella (‘Valley of many cellars’) area, protected by the river Adige and the Lessinia mountains.
BONFANTI VINI
a Story to tell
The company’s philosophy is focused on this territory where the produced wine is the ‘expression’ of the limestone soil and of the climate (TERROIR), affected by the proximity of pristine woods. The small size of the vineyard has allowed it to be accurately and fondly treated as a small creature. All of this has enhanced the characteristics of the soil, by adopting cultivation practices that allow to obtain high quality grapes, abandoning synthetic products such as pesticides and herbicides, and enable the produced wine to achieve the right balance.
Our wines are created in order to
meet the highest expectations and needs
Our range of organic line includes wines like: Amarone Riserva Docg (in processing), Amarone del Valpolicella Docg (in processing), Valpolicella Ripasso Doc Superiore, Valpolicella Superiore Doc, Valpolicella Doc, which are produced and refined according to the guidelines of the disciplinary for wines of the Valpolicella area. In addition to the wines indicated above, we produce a high-quality IGT called “LE GROTTE”, always in accordance with our winemakers standards.
These wines are marketed by the company of the group “BONFANTI VINI Srl”, together with other wines of the territory (Verona and Veneto).
The Territory
Valpolicella D.O.C.G. (‘Valley of many cellars’), protected by the river Adige and the Lessinia mountains.
The small town of Quinzano is five kilometres from Verona, and its toponym is supposed to derive from its geographical position. The place is located in the north west in a valley surrounded by hills very close to Verona. On these hills olive trees and vineyards live in good harmony and provide Quinzano with a spectacular location.
The Region
Quinzano and Valpolicella
The winery, located in the classic Valpolicella area in the municipality of Negrar, is equipped with stainless steel tanks and oak barrels from Slavonia and France according to the authentic tradition of Amarone and other Valpolicella wines. In this way, winemaking and ageing of all the different wines can be done in the most effective way.
